  • What causes this issue?

You created <DS:DE.WISP_PLINT>interface</> &V1& for generating
<GL:AUFTEILER>allocation tables</>. The interface definition must
contain information about how the <DS:DE.MATNR>material</> and
<DS:DE:WERKS>plant</> characteristics used for creating items and plant
lists for the allocation tables are to be used, and which are defined
in manual planning. You want to find theses characteristics in your
interface using <DS:DE:WISP_BREAKD>break-downs</>. Your system has
found incorrect entries. Only two break-downs can be entered one of
which finds the material and the other finds the plant.

    System Response

You cannot use allocation &V1& to create an allocation table.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WXP505 - Only two break-downs must be assigned to interface &1 ?

    SAP Error Message:
WXP505: Only two break-downs must be assigned to interface &1

    Cause:

This warning message occurs in SAP when you try to assign more than two break-downs (breakdown characteristics) to a particular interface in the context of Product Costing or Cost Object Controlling (e.g., in the costing sheet or activity type costing). The system restricts the number of break-downs assigned to an interface to a maximum of two.

The reason behind this restriction is that the interface design or the underlying logic supports only up to two break-downs for proper processing and calculation. Assigning more than two break-downs can lead to inconsistent or unsupported costing results.

    Explanation:

    • Interface &1 refers to the specific interface or costing interface where the break-downs are assigned.
    • Break-downs are typically used to split costs or quantities according to certain characteristics (e.g., cost center, activity type, order, etc.).
    • The system enforces a maximum of two break-downs to maintain data integrity and calculation logic.

    Solution:

    • Review the break-downs assigned to the interface mentioned in the message.
    • Reduce the number of break-downs assigned to this interface to two or fewer.
    • If more detailed breakdowns are required, consider redesigning the costing approach or using multiple interfaces or other SAP functionalities that support more complex breakdowns.
    • Check customizing settings in Costing Sheets or Activity Type Costing where break-downs are defined.
    • Consult SAP documentation or your SAP functional consultant to understand the best approach for your costing scenario.

    Related Information:

    • This message is a warning (WXP), so it may not stop processing but indicates a potential issue.
    • The limitation is related to the costing interface design in SAP controlling modules.
    • For detailed configuration, check:
      • Transaction codes like OKKN (Costing Sheet)
      • Activity type costing configuration
      • Cost object controlling settings
    • SAP Notes or OSS messages may provide additional insights if this limitation impacts your business process.

    Summary:

    Aspect Details
Message WXP505: Only two break-downs must be assigned to interface &1
Cause More than two break-downs assigned to a costing interface, which is not supported
Solution Limit break-downs to two or fewer per interface; redesign costing if needed
Related Costing sheets, activity type costing, cost object controlling
