  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You have changed or enhanced the arrangement of planning levels. As a
result, hierarchy table &V1& for saving proportional factors using
planning hierarchies has to be generated again by the system.
Proportional factors have already been created in this table and they
must be deleted so that the scenario can be activated.

    System Response

The planning scenario could not be activated.

    How to fix this error?

    Procedure for System Administrators

The hierarchy tables for Merchandise & Assortment Controlling are
generated DDIC tables that can also be processed (with restrictions)
using the Data Dictionary. If it is not possible to activate a planning
scenario despite having deleted proportional factors, it is possible to
delete existing relevant entries in the hierarchy table &V1& or delete
the entire table using the Data Dictionary.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WXP145 - Hierarchy table &1 still contains data ?

    SAP Error Message:
WXP145: Hierarchy table &1 still contains data

    Cause:

This warning message occurs when you attempt to delete or modify a hierarchy in SAP (often in the context of SAP Workflow or Organizational Management), but the underlying hierarchy table still contains entries (data). The system detects that the hierarchy table (whose name is substituted for &1 in the message) is not empty, meaning that the hierarchy structure or related data still exists in the database.

In other words, the hierarchy you want to delete or modify is still in use or has dependent data entries, so the system prevents the operation to avoid data inconsistency or loss.

    Typical Scenarios:

    • Deleting an organizational hierarchy in Organizational Management (OM) while the hierarchy still contains nodes or relationships.
    • Modifying or deleting workflow hierarchies when workflow tasks or assignments still reference the hierarchy.
    • Attempting to clear or reset hierarchy data without first removing dependent entries.

    Solution:

    1. Check the Hierarchy Table Contents:

      • Identify the table name from the message (substituted for &1).
      • Use transaction SE16/SE16N or SE11 to view the contents of the hierarchy table.
      • Analyze which entries are still present and why.
    2. Remove Dependent Data:

      • Delete or archive the dependent entries in the hierarchy table.
      • For Organizational Management, ensure all positions, jobs, organizational units, and relationships are properly deleted or reassigned.
      • For workflow hierarchies, ensure no active workflow tasks or assignments are linked to the hierarchy.
    3. Use Standard SAP Transactions:

      • Use standard SAP transactions for hierarchy maintenance (e.g., PPOME for OM).
      • Use workflow tools (SWI1, SWI5) to check for active workflows.
    4. Reattempt the Operation:

      • After cleaning up the hierarchy data, retry the deletion or modification.
      • The warning should no longer appear if the hierarchy table is empty.
    5. Backup and Transport Considerations:

      • Always ensure you have a backup before deleting hierarchy data.
      • If changes are part of a transport request, ensure consistency across systems.

    Related Information:

    • Hierarchy Tables: The actual table depends on the module and hierarchy type. For example, in Organizational Management, tables like HRP1000 (objects), HRP1001 (relationships) are involved.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues related to hierarchy deletion or warnings.
    • Transaction Codes:
      • PPOME - Organizational Management: Change Organization and Staffing
      • PPOSE - Display Organization and Staffing
      • SWI1 - Workflow: Selection Reports
      • SWI5 - Workflow: Work Item Selection
    • SAP Help Portal: Search for hierarchy management and deletion procedures.
    • Custom Code: If custom programs or reports manipulate hierarchies, ensure they handle data cleanup properly.

    Summary:

The message WXP145 indicates that the hierarchy table still contains data, preventing deletion or modification. The solution is to identify and remove dependent data entries from the hierarchy table before retrying the operation. Use SAP standard tools and transactions to manage and clean up hierarchy data safely.
