• Message text: Multiple materials creation not allowed; select only one material

What causes this issue?

The system cannot create multiple materials; it can only create one
material at a time.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Either select only one search result, or do not select any search result
to create a material from scratch.
Material creation from the Enhanced Material Search function supports
the following scenarios for single material creation:
A material can be created from scratch in case no material search result
has been selected.
A material can be created using an existing material as a template
(material copy). Existing material data is used for new material values
and can then be changed by user.
A material can be created from a catalog search result (without a
material number). The data from the catalog item is used for the
material creation.
When the simplified material creation method is selected, data from the
reference material is used for missing material values. The fields used
in the simplified material creation need to be configured in advance in
Customizing for Logistics-General by choosing <ZK>Material Master ->
Enhanced Material Search with Creation -> Configure Simplified Creation
of a Material in the Material Search</>.
