  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WRF_STR014 - Variable &1 is not type "Single Value" ?

The SAP error message WRF_STR014 indicates that a variable in your SAP system is not defined as a "Single Value" type, which is required for certain operations, particularly in the context of variant configuration or pricing.

    Cause:

    The error typically arises when:

    1. A variable that is expected to hold a single value (like a characteristic in a variant configuration) is instead defined to allow multiple values or is incorrectly configured.
    2. The variable is being used in a context where only a single value is permissible, such as in pricing conditions or when defining certain characteristics in a configuration profile.

    Solution:

To resolve the WRF_STR014 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Variable Definition:

      • Go to the transaction code CT04 (Characteristic Maintenance) or CU01 (Configuration Profile) to check the definition of the variable in question.
      • Ensure that the variable is defined as a "Single Value" type. If it is set to allow multiple values, you will need to change it to a single value.
    2. Adjust Configuration:

      • If the variable is part of a configuration profile, ensure that it is correctly set up to accept only single values.
      • Review the dependencies and constraints associated with the variable to ensure they align with the requirement for single values.
    3. Review Usage Context:

      • Check where the variable is being used (e.g., in pricing conditions, BOMs, or other configurations) to ensure that it is appropriate for that context.
      • If the variable is being used in a pricing condition, ensure that the condition type is compatible with the variable's definition.
    4. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, test the configuration or pricing procedure to ensure that the error no longer occurs.
