    The variant in question is not assigned to a generic material.
    All variants grouped into a generic material have the same model
    number.
    A variant without a model number cannot be updated, and means that the
    system is not able to create the whole generic material.

    Updating of the generic material is terminated.

    How to fix this error?

    Online, the model number number of a variant is contained in the
    "Generic Material" column.
    At database level, the model number is contained in database table
    PRICAT_K003 under field description VENDOR_SATNR.
    Check whether all the variants belonging to the generic material have
    the same entry for the model number.
    Correct the entry in the relevant item and restart updating.

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
