What causes this issue?
If the characteristic is already assigned to a material group hierarchy
level, a material group, or a characteristic profile, you cannot
restrict the check options of the characteristic with <LS>Check
Characteristic Values in Material Maintenance with Error</>.System Response
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
