What causes this issue?

This error occurs when
You want to assign an object (such as an article) to a document. The
Settings in Customizing (Document management) determine which objects
can be assigned to documents per object type.
Document type does not allow you to assign object to a document.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check in Customizing (Document Management) which objects can be assigned
to documents of document type.
Go to transaction DC10, select an entry and click <ZK>Define Object
Links</> and enter object for the link document type and material master
(MARA).
If you want to assign an object that is not defined in Customizing for
this document type, contact your system administrator.
