What causes this issue?

Serious errors have occurred in the binding from workflow to event in
step &V1& (event creator) of multistep task &V4& . As a consequence,
workflow &V2& has been forced into error status.

How to fix this error?

"Change Workflow Container" then "Restart After Error" could suffice.
The cause, however, is an inconsistency in the binding definition in
&V4&, step &V1&.
