- Delivery split not possible since shipment & already completed ?The SAP error message VW658, which states "Delivery split not possible since shipment & already completed," typically occurs in the context of logistics and transportation management within the SAP system. This error indicates that there is an attempt to split a delivery that is already associated with a shipment that has been completed. Here’s a breakdown of the cause, potential solutions, and related information:
Cause:
- Completed Shipment: The primary cause of this error is that the delivery you are trying to split is linked to a shipment that has already been marked as completed. Once a shipment is completed, it is generally locked for further modifications, including splitting deliveries.
- Delivery Status: The delivery may have a status that prevents further changes, such as being fully processed or invoiced.
- System Configuration: Certain configurations in the SAP system may restrict the ability to split deliveries once they are associated with a completed shipment.
Solutions:
- Check Shipment Status: Verify the status of the shipment associated with the delivery. If the shipment is indeed completed, you will not be able to split the delivery. You may need to create a new delivery for any additional items or changes.
- Reopen Shipment: If it is necessary to split the delivery, you may need to reopen the shipment. This typically requires specific authorizations and may involve reversing the completion status of the shipment. Consult with your logistics or transportation management team for guidance.
- Create New Delivery: If splitting is not possible, consider creating a new delivery for the items that need to be processed separately. This may involve reassigning items from the original delivery to the new one.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific configurations or settings that may affect delivery splitting in your environment.
- Custom Development: In some cases, custom development or enhancements may be necessary to allow for more flexible handling of deliveries and shipments.
Related Information:
