VW119
- Overflow summing quantities in the deliveries ?The SAP error message VW119 "Overflow summing quantities in the deliveries" typically occurs when the system encounters an issue with the summation of quantities in delivery documents. This can happen in various scenarios, such as during the creation of delivery documents, when processing goods movements, or when performing inventory management tasks.
Cause:
- Data Type Limitations: The error is often caused by exceeding the maximum limit of the data type used for storing quantities. In SAP, certain fields may have a maximum value that can be stored, and if the total quantity exceeds this limit, the overflow error occurs.
- Incorrect Configuration: Configuration issues in the delivery or inventory management settings can lead to incorrect calculations or summations.
- Large Quantities: If you are processing a large number of items or very high quantities in a single delivery, it may lead to this overflow error.
- Custom Code: If there are custom enhancements or modifications in the delivery processing logic, they might not handle large quantities correctly.
Solution:
- Check Quantity Limits: Review the quantities being processed in the delivery. Ensure that they do not exceed the maximum limits defined in the system.
- Split Deliveries: If you are dealing with a large quantity, consider splitting the delivery into smaller batches to avoid exceeding the limits.
- Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings related to delivery and inventory management. Ensure that they are set up correctly and that there are no inconsistencies.
- Debugging: If you have access to the development environment, you can debug the process to identify where the overflow is occurring. This may involve checking the code or logic that handles quantity summation.
- SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes or patches that may address this issue. SAP frequently releases updates that fix known bugs or limitations.
