How To Fix VW115 - Leg determination has not been carried out (no point of departure)

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: VW - Shipment Processing Output

  • Message number: 115

  • Message text: Leg determination has not been carried out (no point of departure)

  • Show details Hide details
  • You tried to determine legs for a shipment which has the leg indicator
    'subsequent leg'.
Usually, such a subsequent leg shipment does not start at the actual
point of departure of the deliveries (for example, the shipping
points). It starts at a transportation connection point where the goods
are loaded from the means of transport for the main leg shipment to the
means of transport for the subsequent leg shipment. For example, this
can be a port where a ship is located (the main leg shipment) from
which the goods are loaded onto trucks (the subsequent leg shipment).
The trucks transport the goods to the customer.
You should either specify this point of departure manually (only
possible in the 'Create shipment' (VT01) or 'Change shipment' (VT02)
transaction or let the system determine it because at least one of the
deliveries of the current subsequent leg shipment are in a main leg
    shipment.
The target location was neither manually entered, nor determined by the
system so the leg could not be determined.

The SAP error message VW115 "Leg determination has not been carried out (no point of departure)" typically occurs in the context of transportation management or logistics when the system is unable to determine the transportation legs for a shipment or delivery. This can happen for various reasons, often related to configuration or missing data.

    Causes:

    Solutions:

    1. Check Point of Departure: Ensure that the point of departure is correctly defined in the shipment or delivery document. This can usually be found in the shipping point settings.
    2. Review Master Data: Verify that all relevant master data (material master, customer master, vendor master, etc.) is complete and correctly configured.
    3. Configure Transportation Planning: Review the transportation planning settings in the SAP system to ensure they are set up correctly. This includes checking the transportation lanes and routes.
