VSCAN059
- Stop request is still being processed ?The SAP error message VSCAN059: Stop request is still being processed typically occurs in the context of the SAP Virus Scan Interface (VSI) when a request to stop the virus scanning process is made, but the system is still in the process of completing that request. This can happen for various reasons, such as system performance issues, long-running processes, or a backlog of requests.
Causes:
- Ongoing Processing: The stop request is still being processed, which means that the system has not yet completed the previous request to stop the virus scanning.
- System Performance Issues: High system load or performance bottlenecks can delay the processing of requests.
- Configuration Issues: Misconfiguration of the virus scanning settings or the virus scan server can lead to delays in processing requests.
- Long-running Scans: If there are large files or a high volume of files being scanned, it may take longer for the stop request to be processed.
Solutions:
- Wait for Completion: Often, the simplest solution is to wait for the current stop request to complete. Monitor the system to see if the request eventually processes.
- Check System Logs: Review the SAP system logs (transaction SM21) and the virus scan logs to identify any underlying issues or errors that may be causing delays.
- Restart the Virus Scan Service: If the stop request is taking too long, you may need to restart the virus scan service. This should be done with caution and ideally during a maintenance window to avoid disrupting ongoing processes.
- Check Configuration: Ensure that the virus scan settings are correctly configured. This includes checking the connection to the virus scan server and ensuring that it is operational.
- Increase Resources: If the system is under heavy load, consider increasing the resources allocated to the SAP system or the virus scan server to improve performance.
- Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot resolve it, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.
