What causes this issue?

In Customizing for delivery item categories, the level of automation for
processing the proof of delivery (POD) is not set.

System Response

Proof of delivery cannot be executed without this setting.

How to fix this error?

The following settings should be made in Customizing for the delivery
item categories for inbound deliveries:
If the item category is relevant to the POD, one of the three
alternatives must be defined for the POD level of automation in the view
'Maintain POD Relevance':
V = fully automatic POD processing
T = partially automatic POD processing
M = manual POD processing
