Message text: Transaction VL31 is not supported with active change management
If change management is activated, transaction VL31 cannot be use to
create distribution-relevant inbound deliveries. This is due to
technical reasons.
Use transaction VL31N, or make settings in Customizing for the
<DS:SIMG.SIMG_XXLEIDW2006>warehouse number</> and the
<DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLSDVOLF>delivery type</>, so that distribution of
the inbound deliveries to the decentralized WMS is delayed.

VL586
- Transaction VL31 is not supported with active change management ?The SAP error message VL586 indicates that the transaction VL31 (which is used for creating inbound deliveries) is not supported when change management is active in the system. This typically occurs in environments where change management is enabled for logistics processes, which restricts certain transactions to ensure data integrity and compliance with business processes.
Cause:
The primary cause of this error is that the system is configured to use change management for inbound deliveries, and the VL31 transaction is not compatible with this configuration. Change management is a feature that allows for tracking and managing changes to documents and processes, and it may impose restrictions on certain transactions to maintain control over the data.
Solution:
To resolve this issue, you have a few options:
Use Alternative Transactions: Instead of using VL31, consider using other transactions that are compatible with change management. For example, you might use VL32 (Change Inbound Delivery) or VL33 (Display Inbound Delivery) if you need to modify or view existing deliveries.
Check Configuration Settings: If you believe that VL31 should be allowed in your process, you may need to review the configuration settings related to change management in your SAP system. This may involve consulting with your SAP Basis or configuration team to understand the implications of changing these settings.
Disable Change Management: If it is appropriate for your business processes, you could consider disabling change management for inbound deliveries. However, this should be done with caution, as it may have implications for data integrity and compliance. Ensure that you have the necessary approvals and that you understand the impact of this change.
Consult SAP Documentation: Review the SAP documentation or notes related to change management and inbound deliveries. There may be specific guidelines or recommendations provided by SAP that can help you navigate this issue.
Contact SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue through the above steps, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They can provide guidance based on your specific system configuration and requirements.
