Message text: Delivery quantities were increased, even though picking already occurred
You have increased the delivery quantity of individual items. However,
picking and/or putaway for this delivery document has already begun in
the decentralized Warehouse Management System.
The requested change requires recreation of a transfer order in the WMS,
and therefore additional activities in the warehouse.
According to the default system settings, the system rejects the change
or outputs a message.

VL470
- Delivery quantities were increased, even though picking already occurred ?The SAP error message VL470 indicates that there is a discrepancy between the delivery quantities and the quantities that have already been picked. This typically occurs when there is an attempt to change the delivery quantities after the picking process has already been completed. Here’s a breakdown of the cause, potential solutions, and related information for this error:
Cause:
- Quantity Change After Picking: The most common cause of this error is that the delivery quantities were increased after the picking process was completed. SAP does not allow changes to the delivery quantities if picking has already occurred to maintain data integrity.
- Manual Adjustments: Users may have manually adjusted the delivery quantities in the delivery document after the picking process.
- System Configuration: Certain configurations in the system may restrict changes to delivery quantities once picking is done.
Solutions:
- Revert Quantity Changes: If possible, revert the delivery quantities back to the original amounts before the picking was done. This can be done by editing the delivery document and ensuring that the quantities match what was picked.
- Cancel Picking: If the delivery quantities need to be increased, you may need to cancel the picking process first. This can be done through the transaction code for picking (e.g., VL02N for changing deliveries) and then redoing the picking after adjusting the quantities.
- Create a New Delivery: If the changes are significant and cannot be reverted easily, consider creating a new delivery with the correct quantities and processing it accordingly.
- Check User Authorizations: Ensure that users have the appropriate authorizations to make changes to delivery documents, especially after picking.
- Consult with SAP Support: If the issue persists or if there are specific configurations that need to be addressed, it may be beneficial to consult with SAP support or your internal SAP team for further assistance.
