Message text: The customer has requested complete delivery
The indicator 'complete delivery' has been set in the order, meaning
that all items relevant for delivery are to be sent in one delivery.
This indicator is either copied from the customer master into the order
header or is manually entered in the order.
Since it is not possible to deliver all items relevant for delivery in
one delivery, the system issues an error message rejecting the creation
of the delivery in the <LS>Sales Orders/Purchase Orders Worklist</>
(VL04). If you attempt to create a delivery in transaction VL01, the
system issues a warning, but allows the delivery to be created.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
This may be due to one of following reasons:Check the order data. If collective processing has not been created in
the delivery, you can do it manually with transaction VL01, though it
will be incomplete.

VL049
- The customer has requested complete delivery ?The SAP error message VL049, which states "The customer has requested complete delivery," typically occurs during the delivery process when the system detects that the customer has specified a requirement for complete delivery of the ordered items. This means that the customer expects to receive all items in a single shipment rather than partial deliveries.
Cause:
- Customer Request: The customer has set a requirement for complete delivery in their order. This is often indicated in the sales order or purchase order.
- Delivery Quantity: The delivery quantity being processed does not match the total quantity ordered. If the system detects that not all items can be delivered at once, it triggers this error.
- Configuration Settings: The settings in the sales order or customer master data may enforce complete delivery as a requirement.
Solution:
To resolve the VL049 error, you can consider the following steps:
Check Sales Order: Review the sales order to confirm if the complete delivery requirement is indeed set. You can do this by navigating to the sales order in the SAP system and checking the delivery terms.
Adjust Delivery Quantity: If the delivery quantity is less than the ordered quantity, you may need to adjust it to match the total ordered quantity. Ensure that all items are available for delivery.
Modify Customer Settings: If the complete delivery requirement is not necessary, you can modify the customer master data or the sales order settings to allow partial deliveries. This can be done by:
- Going to the customer master record and changing the delivery terms.
- Adjusting the sales order settings to allow partial deliveries.
Communicate with the Customer: If the customer insists on complete delivery, you may need to coordinate with them to ensure that all items are available for shipment before proceeding.
Check Configuration: If you have access to configuration settings, check the relevant settings in the sales and distribution module to see if there are any rules enforcing complete delivery.
