  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message VJ202 - ILN determination: No additional address segment E1ADRE1 with ident. 100 ?

The SAP error message VJ202 indicates an issue with the determination of the International Location Number (ILN) due to the absence of an additional address segment (E1ADRE1) with the identifier 100. This error typically arises in the context of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes, particularly when dealing with the transmission of business documents that require specific address information.

    Cause:

The error is caused by the system's inability to find the required address segment (E1ADRE1) with the specified identifier (100) in the relevant data structure. This can happen due to several reasons:

    1. Missing Data: The necessary address data has not been maintained in the master data (e.g., vendor or customer master records).
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration for ILN determination may not be set up correctly in the system.
    3. Data Mapping Issues: There may be issues with how the data is mapped for EDI processing, leading to the absence of the required segments.

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Master Data:

      • Ensure that the relevant master data (customer or vendor) contains the necessary address information. Specifically, check if the E1ADRE1 segment with identifier 100 is populated correctly.
      • You can do this by navigating to the relevant master data transaction (e.g., XD02 for customers or MK02 for vendors) and verifying the address details.
    2. Review ILN Configuration:

      • Check the configuration settings for ILN determination in the SAP system. This can typically be found in the customizing settings under Logistics or EDI.
      • Ensure that the necessary settings for address segments are correctly defined.
    3. Data Mapping:

      • If you are using a middleware or EDI mapping tool, verify that the mapping for the address segments is correctly set up to include the E1ADRE1 segment with identifier 100.
      • Ensure that the data being sent to the EDI system includes all required segments.
    4. Testing:

      • After making the necessary adjustments, perform a test to see if the error persists. This can involve creating a new document that triggers the ILN determination process.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to ILN determination and EDI processing for any additional guidance or known issues.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as WE20 (Partner Profiles), WE21 (Port Definition), and WE60 (IDoc Documentation) for EDI configuration.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any updates or patches related to ILN determination and EDI processing that may address known issues.
    • Support: If the issue persists after following the above steps, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the cause of the VJ202 error message in your SAP system.
