Message type: E = Error
Message class: VIRT - Virtualization Monitoring
Message number: 013
Message text: Utilization
The average utilization of all of the CPUs in the host system. The
utilization includes both user and system usage of the CPU; it therefore
provides a correct view of the intensity of usage of the CPU and the
amount of reserve computing capacity.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
A persistently high CPU utilization suggests that the computing capacity
of the CPU(s) are limiting the performance of the system as a whole.
Many factors can contribute to overly high CPU utilization; an analysis
is therefore necessary. If the problem is simply that there are too
manyprocesses active on the host system, then possible corrective
measures include moving CPU-intensive program runs to off-peak times or
to other host systems, dedicating the host system to database use, if it
is the database server, and increasing the number of or upgrading the
CPU(s).
Low CPU utilization in conjunction with poor SAP system performance
indicates that there is another bottleneck in the system that is causing
the CPU to wait for long periods.

VIRT013
- Utilization ?The SAP error message VIRT013 typically relates to issues with resource utilization in a virtual environment, often indicating that there is a problem with the allocation or management of virtual resources. This error can occur in various contexts, such as when working with SAP's virtualization solutions or when integrating with cloud services.
Cause:
- Resource Overutilization: The virtual resources (CPU, memory, etc.) may be overutilized, leading to performance issues.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration of the virtual environment or the SAP system can lead to this error.
- Insufficient Resources: The underlying infrastructure may not have enough resources allocated to meet the demands of the SAP application.
- Network Issues: Problems with network connectivity or bandwidth can also lead to resource utilization errors.
Solution:
- Monitor Resource Utilization: Use monitoring tools to check the current utilization of CPU, memory, and other resources. Identify any bottlenecks or overutilization.
- Adjust Resource Allocation: If resources are overutilized, consider reallocating resources or upgrading the infrastructure to provide more capacity.
- Review Configuration Settings: Ensure that the configuration settings for the virtual environment and SAP system are correct and optimized for performance.
- Optimize Performance: Look for ways to optimize the performance of the SAP application, such as tuning database queries, optimizing code, or adjusting system parameters.
- Check Network Performance: Ensure that the network is functioning properly and that there are no issues with bandwidth or connectivity that could affect resource utilization.
Related Information:
Addressing the VIRT013 error involves a combination of monitoring, configuration adjustments, and performance optimization. By systematically analyzing the virtual environment and making necessary changes, you can resolve the error and improve the overall performance of your SAP system.
