What causes this issue?

You are trying to execute a goods receipt posting or transfer posting
for handling units. The corresponding posting can be executed only for
HUs from repetitive manufacturing, HUS for production oders or free HUs
from the stock.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
