Message type: E = Error
Message class: VBDRV - Derivation of Batch Characteristics
Message number: 037
Message text: Derivation &1 (status &2) is replaced by this derivation
This derivation replaces the existing derivation, number &V1&.
In the future, the system will perform checks against this derivation
instead of derivation &V1& to see whether a derivation will be invalid
as a result of changes to batches or orders.
The status of the old derivation and the new derivation is not
important. A derivation that has errors can replace a derivation that
does not have errors.

VBDRV037
- Derivation &1 (status &2) is replaced by this derivation ?The SAP error message VBDRV037 indicates that there is a conflict in the derivation of a certain value in the system. Specifically, it means that a derivation (or value) that was previously determined (status &2) is being replaced by a new derivation (indicated by &1). This typically occurs in the context of pricing, condition records, or other areas where values are derived based on certain conditions or rules.
Cause:
- Conflicting Derivations: The primary cause of this error is that there are multiple derivations for the same condition or value, and the system has determined that one derivation should take precedence over another.
- Incorrect Configuration: There may be issues in the configuration of the pricing procedure, condition types, or derivation rules that lead to conflicts.
- Data Inconsistencies: Inconsistent or incorrect master data can also lead to this error, as the system may not be able to derive the correct value based on the available data.
Solution:
- Review Derivation Rules: Check the derivation rules in the configuration settings. Ensure that there are no conflicting rules that could lead to multiple derivations for the same condition.
- Check Condition Records: Review the condition records for the relevant pricing or value determination. Ensure that they are set up correctly and do not conflict with each other.
- Analyze the Status: Look into the status indicated by &2 to understand why the original derivation is being replaced. This may provide insights into what is causing the conflict.
- Adjust Configuration: If necessary, adjust the configuration of the pricing procedure or the relevant condition types to ensure that the correct derivation is applied.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the derivation process and how to resolve conflicts.
