- Entity type &2, UI element &1: Table column with key field is missing ?The SAP error message USMD2049 indicates that there is a problem with the configuration of a UI element in the context of the SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) application. Specifically, it points out that a table column that is supposed to contain a key field is missing for a specified entity type and UI element.
Cause:
The error typically arises due to one of the following reasons:
- Missing Key Field Configuration: The key field that is expected in the UI element's table is not defined in the data model or is not included in the UI configuration.
- Incorrect UI Configuration: The UI element may not be properly configured to display the key field, or the key field may have been removed from the UI configuration.
- Data Model Changes: If there have been recent changes to the data model (e.g., adding or removing fields), the UI configuration may not have been updated accordingly.
- Transport Issues: If the configuration was transported from one system to another, there may have been issues during the transport that caused the key field to be omitted.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can follow these steps:
Check Data Model:
- Verify that the key field for the specified entity type is correctly defined in the data model. You can do this by navigating to the relevant data model in the SAP MDG configuration.
Review UI Configuration:
- Go to the UI configuration for the specific entity type and check if the key field is included in the table layout. Ensure that the key field is marked as visible and is part of the table structure.
Update UI Configuration:
- If the key field is missing, add it to the UI configuration. You can do this using the SAP GUI or the relevant configuration transaction (e.g., using the MDG customizing transactions).
Transport Check:
- If the issue arose after a transport, check the transport logs to ensure that all necessary objects were transported correctly. If something is missing, you may need to re-transport the relevant objects.
Testing:
- After making the necessary changes, test the UI element to ensure that the error is resolved and that the key field is now displayed correctly.
