USMD1582
- Model &1, entity type &2: Deletion of entities not allowed ?The SAP error message USMD1582 typically occurs in the context of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) when there is an attempt to delete entities that are not allowed to be deleted. This can happen for various reasons, such as business rules, data integrity constraints, or configuration settings that prevent the deletion of certain master data entities.
Cause:
- Business Rules: The system may have business rules defined that prohibit the deletion of specific entities. This is often the case for critical master data that is linked to other data or processes.
- Data Integrity Constraints: The entity you are trying to delete may be referenced by other entities or transactions, making it impossible to delete without violating data integrity.
- Configuration Settings: The configuration in the MDG system may be set to disallow deletions for certain entity types or models.
- Status of the Entity: The entity might be in a status that does not allow deletion (e.g., it could be marked as "active" or "approved").
Solution:
- Check Business Rules: Review the business rules associated with the entity type in question. If the rules prevent deletion, you may need to modify them or follow the appropriate process to handle the entity.
- Review Dependencies: Check if the entity is being referenced by other entities or transactions. If so, you may need to remove those references before attempting to delete the entity.
- Configuration Review: Consult with your SAP MDG configuration team to review the settings related to the entity type. They may need to adjust the configuration to allow deletions if appropriate.
- Change Status: If the entity is in a status that does not allow deletion, consider changing its status to one that does (if applicable) before attempting to delete it.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the entity type and the rules governing deletions.
