What causes this issue?

The layout should be displayed in the Microsoft Excel Web Component.
But in the definition of the layout it was determined that the SAP List
Viewer (ALV) should be used to display the layout.

The layout cannot be displayed.

How to fix this error?

Proceed in one of the following ways:
Change the display variant in the Web Interface Builder to HTML.
Open the layout in the planning environment in the change mode and
change the layout as follows:
Set Microsoft Excel as the display tool.
Switch to the third screen of the Layout Builder.
In the settings for Excel choose "Publish for Web".
Save the layout.
