SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: UGMD - FIN Master Data: Messages

  • Message number: 176

  • Message text: Warning: Another role change needed; see long text

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You have changed the delivered basis field assignments (UGMD2200) for
particular fields. However, simply changing the table <ZH>UGMD2200</> is
<ZH>not sufficient in itself</> to ensure any required automatic
adaptations of existing registrations of these fields.

    System Response

Only in the case of <ZH>role changes</> is the necessary change process
automatically covered by the master data framework through a new role
time stamp. Simply making a change to table UGMD2200 does <ZH>not</>
ensure this. As developer you have to take responsibility for smooth
    delivery.

    How to fix this error?

    Switch to <DS:TRAN.UG_MD_ROLES>role maintenance</>, and make <ZH>an
additional change to the relevant <ZK>role</> </> that ensures automatic
adaption of all appropriate registrations. This may involve a purely
formal change (such as saving a change and then cancelling it again).
What matters is that the role receives a <ZH>new time stamp</> (table
UGMD1000, field TIMESTAMP) and that this role is central enough so that
all relevant registrations are actually entered by it later.
Once you have maintained table UGMD2200 including a suitable role
change, the master data framework automatically covers the adaptions to
    existing registrations:
Obsolete buffered field attributes are automatically updated.
The newly assigned basis field is automatically registered in all
    relevant databases if necessary .
If necessary the DDIC structures are regenerated.
The delivery case (upgrade or Support Package) is likewise covered.
