Message type: E = Error
Message class: UCS0 - Messages for Status Management
Message number: 321
Message text: Task &1: 'Incomplete' due to status of succession tasks
In one of the following ways, the executed task &v1& is a preceding task
of tasks in another version or in a dependent restatement:
The task itself or one of its successor tasks is the source task of a
copy task, such that the copy task in the target version is the
successor task of the executed task.
You are using a restatement with reference. In this restatement, the
current task or one of its successor tasks is implicitly the successor
task of the same task in the reference statement.
<ZH>For at least one such successor task, the system cannot set the
status <ZK>Incomplete</> because the period in the relevant version or
restatement is closed, or you do not have sufficient authorization to
change the status.</>
The additional messages of the task execution contain detailed
information about this.
For the task &v1&, the system sets the status <ZK>Incomplete</> instead
of <ZK>Without Errors, Without Warnings</> or <ZK>No Errors With
Warnings</>.
If you execute a unit-based task on a consolidation group, the system
sets the status <ZK>Incomplete</> for <ZH>all </>units in the group.
This also applies if the situation described above occurs only for <ZH>
one</> of the consolidation units in the group.
Make sure that the system can set the status of all successor tasks
correctly, that is, open the period or assign the relevant autho
rization.
Then execute the current task again. Then as expected, the system sets
the status <ZK>Without Errors, Without Warnings</> or <ZK>No Errors With
Warnings</>.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
