Message type: E = Error
Message class: U6 - Message Class for BRE
Message number: 074
Message text: To-Date &1 &2 comes after the security margin SY-DATE - &3
In order to guarantee a complete evaluation, you should never execute an
evaluation right up to the system date, which means, never exceed the
safety margin (SY DATE - Int.Ex.Gn).
The safety margin Int.Ex.Gn (&V3&) is defined in the
<DS:DE.DIFFBRE>Int.Ex.Gn</> field in the Backlog-Set-Definition table
(ISU_BACKLOGS).
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Move the to-date &V1& &V2& to <ZH>before</> the safety margin (SY DATE -
&V3&) if you do not have explicit reasons for an incomplete evaluation
(see reasons mentioned above).

U6074
- To-Date &1 &2 comes after the security margin SY-DATE - &3 ?The SAP error message U6074 indicates that there is an issue with the date range specified in a transaction or report. Specifically, the error message states that the "To-Date" you have entered is beyond the allowed security margin set in the system. The message format typically looks like this:
U6074 To-Date &1 &2 comes after the security margin SY-DATE - &3
Cause:
- Date Range Violation: The "To-Date" you are trying to enter is later than the current date minus a defined security margin. This security margin is a safeguard to prevent users from entering dates that are too far in the future or past, which could lead to data integrity issues.
- Configuration Settings: The security margin is usually defined in the system settings, and it can vary based on the organization's policies or the specific module being used.
Solution:
- Check the Dates: Review the "To-Date" you are trying to enter. Ensure that it is within the acceptable range defined by the security margin.
- Adjust the Date: If the "To-Date" is indeed beyond the allowed range, you will need to adjust it to a valid date that falls within the security margin.
- Review Security Margin Settings: If you believe the security margin is too restrictive for your business needs, you may need to consult with your SAP administrator or a functional consultant to review and potentially adjust the security margin settings in the system.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to the relevant SAP documentation or help resources for more details on how to manage date ranges and security margins in your specific SAP module.
