- Support Package name &1 not permitted: Counter must be higher than &3 ?The SAP error message TR_AUSL174 indicates that there is an issue with the support package you are trying to import. Specifically, the message states that the support package name is not permitted because the counter must be higher than a specified value. This typically occurs when you are attempting to import a support package that is not in the correct sequence or is not compatible with the current state of your system.
Cause:
- Incorrect Sequence: The support package you are trying to import has a lower counter than the last imported package. SAP uses a counter system to ensure that packages are applied in the correct order.

- System Configuration: The system may not be configured correctly to accept the support package you are trying to import.
Solution:
Check Package Sequence: Verify the sequence of the support packages you have installed. You can do this by checking the installed packages in the SAP system. Ensure that you are trying to import a package with a higher counter than the last one installed.
Review Dependencies: Check if the support package you are trying to import has any dependencies on other packages. Make sure all prerequisite packages are installed before attempting to import the new package.
Use SPAM/SAINT: Use the SPAM (Support Package Manager) or SAINT (Add-On Installation Tool) transaction to manage your support packages. These tools can help you identify the correct sequence and dependencies.
Consult SAP Notes: Look for relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. SAP Notes often provide detailed information about known issues and their resolutions.
Upgrade Path: If you are trying to skip multiple support packages, consider following the recommended upgrade path provided by SAP. This may involve applying intermediate packages before applying the desired one.
