Message type: E = Error
Message class: TR - Change and Transport System
Message number: 281
Message text: Active version of & & & is not identical with the last version
You want to delete an object from an object list.
The active version of this object (&V1& &V2& &V3&) does not agree with
the last version in the version database.
Deleting the object does not automatically cause the last stored
version to be reloaded, so that the changes made in the meantime are
kept.
Since a complete log of the changes by the Change and Transport System
is not possible in this case, the object cannot be deleted.
A warning is given.
Go to the version management and reactivate the last version of the
corresponding object before you delete the entry.

TR281
- Active version of & & & is not identical with the last version ?The SAP error message TR281 indicates that there is a discrepancy between the active version of a transport request and its last version. This typically occurs in the context of transport management in SAP, where changes made in a transport request are not consistent with what is currently active in the system.
Cause:
- Changes Made After Release: The active version of the transport request has been modified after it was released, which can happen if someone has made changes directly in the development environment.
- Transport Request Not Properly Released: The transport request may not have been properly released, leading to inconsistencies.
- Manual Changes: Manual changes to objects in the system that are part of the transport request can lead to this error.
- Multiple Developers: If multiple developers are working on the same objects and one of them releases the transport request while others are still making changes, this can cause version mismatches.
Solution:
- Check the Transport Request: Review the transport request in question to see if there are any changes that have been made after it was released. You can do this by checking the change logs.
- Re-release the Transport Request: If changes were made after the transport request was released, you may need to re-release it. This can be done by:
- Going to the transport request in the Transport Organizer (SE09 or SE10).
- Selecting the transport request and choosing the option to release it again.
- Synchronize Versions: If the active version is not the one you want, you may need to synchronize the versions by either reverting to the last version or updating the active version to match the last version.
- Consult with Team Members: If multiple developers are involved, communicate with your team to ensure that everyone is aware of the changes being made and to avoid conflicts.
- Use Transport Management Tools: Utilize SAP's transport management tools to manage and monitor transport requests effectively.
