  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TR144 - Object & is contained as a subobject in object & & ?

The SAP error message TR144 indicates that there is an issue with transport objects in the Transport Management System (TMS). Specifically, it means that the object you are trying to transport is already included as a subobject in another transport request. This can happen when you attempt to include an object in a transport request that is already part of another request.

    Cause:

    1. Object Already Included: The object you are trying to add to a transport request is already part of another transport request.
    2. Dependencies: The object may have dependencies on other objects that are already included in a different transport request.
    3. Incorrect Transport Request: You may be trying to transport an object that is not meant to be transported separately.

    Solution:

    1. Check Existing Transport Requests: Review the existing transport requests to see if the object is already included. You can do this by using transaction code SE01 or SE09 to view transport requests.
    2. Remove from Other Request: If the object is included in another transport request and you need to transport it separately, you may need to remove it from the other request. Be cautious with this approach, as it may affect other changes.
    3. Use the Correct Transport Request: If the object is already part of a transport request, consider using that request for your transport instead of trying to create a new one.
    4. Check Dependencies: If the object has dependencies, ensure that all related objects are included in the same transport request.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP Basis team for best practices regarding transport requests and object management.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:
      • SE01: Transport Organizer
      • SE09: Workbench Organizer
      • SE10: Customizing Organizer
    • Transport Management System (TMS): Understand how TMS works in SAP, including how to manage transport requests and objects.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to transport requests and the TR144 error.

If the problem persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to reach out to your SAP Basis team or consult SAP support for further assistance.
