How To Fix TN427 - Could not calculate a valid Support Package queue

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: TN - Support Package Manager (SPAM) Messages

  • Message number: 427

  • Message text: Could not calculate a valid Support Package queue

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You want to define a single Support Package queue for multiple
    components, however your attempt failed.

    System Response

Defining the queue using this function can cause important outbound
information to be missing from the queue calculator, meaning that the
system is unable to calculate a valid queue. In this case the system
also fails to return any detailed error information.

    How to fix this error?

Attempt to calculate the queue again for a single component.
To do this, proceed as follows:
Choose <LS>Single Component</> or start the queue calculation function
again by choosing <LS>Display/Define</> on the initial screen of the
    Support Package Manager.
The dialog box <ZH>Component Selection</> appears with a list of the
    installed software components.
    Select a component.
This may lead to one of the following results:
The system calculates a valid queue and displays it. You can define this
queue or repeat the queue calculation for other components, to see where
    the problem is.
The system is unable to calculate the queue and specifies which
prerequisites must be fulfilled for the queue to be calculated
    successfully.
    RESET N1
If defining a queue for a single component also does not solve the
problem, attempt to calculate the queue again by specifying a target
Support Package for the chosen component in the OCS package directory.
This makes it easier for the system to specify error information (such
    as missing prerequisites).
To do this, proceed as follows:
In the Support Package Manager, under <LS>Directory</>, choose the
    option <LS>New Support Packages</>.
In the OCS package directory, you can see all available new Support
    Packages under <LS>New</>.
Position the cursor on your chosen target Support Package and choose
    <LS>Calculate Queue</>.
This can have the following results.
The system calculates a valid queue and displays it.
The system cannot calculate the queue and specifies the prerequisites
that must be fulfilled before it can calculate the queue.
Load the prerequisite Support Packages and restart the queue
    calculation.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
