How To Fix TK785 - Release canceled by user

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: TK - Transport Organizer

  • Message number: 785

  • Message text: Release canceled by user

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The release was cancelled at the user's wish, since the check indicated
that there may be inconsistent key entries for transporting table
    entries.
These possible inconsistencies are caused by changes to the underlying
table structure since the request or task was created.
It may also be the case that table entries are to be transported, for
which the information on the corresponding table structure (current or
previous) is missing (for example, if the table has already been
deleted). In this case, no check can be made to see whether the key
entries are still consistent at the time of release. You are informed
    that inconsistencies may exist.

    System Response

    The request/task was not released.

    How to fix this error?

Check the key entries for the table entries to be transported.
To do this, display the object list of the request or task, and go to
the object key display. The key entries are listed by key field,
according to the current structure of the underlying table.
On the basis of the current table structure displayed, check whether
the key entries shown correspond to the table entries you wish to
    transport.
If necessary, adjust the entries manually and save the changes.
You can then release the request or task again.

The SAP error message "TK785 Release canceled by user" typically occurs in the context of the SAP system when a user cancels a release process, such as a release of a purchase order, a sales order, or a similar document. This message indicates that the action was intentionally aborted by the user, and it is not necessarily indicative of a system error.

    Cause:

    1. User Action: The most common cause is that the user manually canceled the release process. This could happen if the user realized they made a mistake or if they decided not to proceed with the release for any reason.
    2. System Configuration: In some cases, the system may be configured to allow users to cancel releases under certain conditions, which could lead to this message being displayed.
    3. Authorization Issues: If a user does not have the necessary authorizations to complete the release, they may choose to cancel the action.

    Solution:

    1. Review User Actions: Check if the cancellation was intentional. If it was, no further action is needed. If it was unintentional, the user can attempt to re-initiate the release process.
    2. Check Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the appropriate authorizations to perform the release. If not, consult with your SAP security team to adjust the user's permissions.
    3. System Logs: Review system logs or transaction logs to see if there are any additional messages or errors that could provide context for the cancellation.
    4. Training: If users frequently cancel releases, consider providing additional training on the release process to minimize confusion.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: The error may occur in various transaction codes depending on the context (e.g., ME29N for purchase orders, VA02 for sales orders).
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or updates related to the specific transaction or module you are working with.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation for the specific module to understand the release process and any related configurations.
