What causes this issue?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Not allowed to enable/disable automatic expansion while the object is
configured with ?default? policy.

How to fix this error?

First change the configuration policy of the corresponding segment(s) of
the desired database which then allows the activation/deactivation of
the auto-expansion of the database.
