- You have no display authorization for this selection ?The SAP error message SV762 ("You have no display authorization for this selection") typically occurs when a user attempts to access data or execute a transaction for which they do not have the necessary display authorizations. This can happen in various SAP modules, including but not limited to SAP ERP, SAP BW, and others.
Cause:
- Missing Authorizations: The user does not have the required authorization objects assigned to their user profile to view the data or execute the transaction.
- Role Assignment: The user’s role may not include the necessary permissions for the specific data selection or transaction.
- Data Restrictions: There may be restrictions on the data based on organizational levels, such as company codes, plants, or other criteria that the user does not have access to.
- Profile Issues: The user profile may not be correctly configured, or there may be issues with the authorization profile assigned to the user.
Solution:
Check User Authorizations:
- Use transaction code SU53 immediately after encountering the error to see which authorization check failed. This will provide insight into what specific authorization is missing.
- Alternatively, you can use transaction SU01 to check the user’s roles and authorizations.
Review Role Assignments:
- Ensure that the user has the appropriate roles assigned that include the necessary authorization objects for the transaction or data they are trying to access.
- If roles need to be modified, this can be done using transaction PFCG (Profile Generator).
Modify Authorizations:
- If you have the necessary permissions, you can modify the authorization objects in the user’s role to include the missing authorizations.
- If you do not have the necessary permissions, contact your SAP security administrator or the person responsible for user management in your organization.
Testing:
- After making changes to roles or authorizations, have the user log out and log back in to ensure that the changes take effect.
- Test the transaction again to confirm that the issue has been resolved.
