  • What causes this issue?

    The system cannot determine a period in controlling area &2 for posting
    date &1.

    System Response

    Without the period, the system cannot valuate the confirmation data.
    The extraction of the data from the SAP System to the <ZK>Business
    Information Warehouse</> is aborted.

    How to fix this error?

    In the Implementation Guide for the <ZK>Controlling</> application
    component, choose <ZK>General Controlling -> Organization -> Maintain
    Controlling Area</>. In the dialog box <ZK>Choose Activity</>, choose
    <ZK>Maintain Controlling Area. </>Under <ZK>Basic Data</>, enter the
    required information for the fiscal year variant.
    Also maintain the fiscal year variant under <ZK>Financial Accounting ->
    Financical Accounting Basic Settings -> Fiscal Year.</>

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

STPC102 - Details

  • The SAP error message STPC102 indicates that the system is unable to determine a valid posting period for a given posting date in a specific controlling (CO) area. This typically occurs when there is a mismatch between the posting date and the defined periods in the controlling area.
    
    Cause: Closed Posting Periods: The posting date falls within a period that has already been closed for posting in the controlling area. Missing Periods: The controlling area may not have defined periods for the fiscal year that includes the posting date. Incorrect Configuration: There may be configuration issues in the controlling area settings or fiscal year variant. Date Format Issues: The posting date may be incorrectly formatted or not recognized by the system.
    Solution: Check Posting Periods: Go to the transaction code OB52 to check the posting periods for the controlling area. Ensure that the period for the posting date is open. If necessary, extend the posting period to allow postings
