What causes this issue?

The system cannot find the document. The specified URL may be incorrect.

System Response

If the document is opened in display mode, the system tries to
write-protect it. This is not possible in this case, but the document
may nevertheless be opened in the browser.

How to fix this error?

Check the document URL. Correct variations are:
\\<server name>\<directory>\....,,,,e.g.: \\pc12345\...
<drive ID>:\<directory>\....,,,,,,e.g.: C:\...
file://\\<server name>\<directory>\....,,e.g.: file://\\pc12345\...
