SI115
- Data is blocked by user &1 and could not be saved ?The SAP error message SI115 indicates that a particular data record is currently locked by a user, preventing other users from making changes or saving data to that record. This is a common issue in SAP systems where multiple users may be trying to access or modify the same data simultaneously.
Cause:
- User Lock: The data is locked by a specific user (indicated by &1 in the error message). This could happen if a user is currently editing the data or if a previous session did not close properly.
- Transaction Incompletion: If a user started a transaction but did not complete it, the data may remain locked.
- System Issues: Sometimes, system errors or crashes can lead to locks not being released properly.
Solution:
Identify the Lock:
- Use transaction code SM12 to view and manage locks. You can check which user is holding the lock and on which object.
- Look for the user ID mentioned in the error message.
Release the Lock:
- If you have the necessary authorizations, you can manually delete the lock entry in SM12. Be cautious when doing this, as it may lead to data inconsistency if the user is still working on the data.
- If the user is available, ask them to complete or cancel their transaction to release the lock.
Wait and Retry:
- If the lock is held by another user who is actively working, it may be best to wait until they finish their work and then try saving again.
Check for Background Jobs:
- Sometimes, background jobs may hold locks. Check transaction SM37 to see if any jobs are running that might be causing the lock.
System Restart:
- In rare cases, if locks are not being released due to a system issue, a system restart may be necessary. This should be done by your SAP Basis team.
Related Information:
If the problem persists or if you are unsure about taking action, it is advisable to contact your SAP Basis team or system administrator for further assistance.
