- Cannot enter seg. dependent MRP qty data; segment is not MRQ relevant ?The SAP error message SGT_MAIN072 indicates that there is an issue with entering segment-dependent MRP (Material Requirements Planning) quantity data because the segment in question is not relevant for MRP. This typically occurs in the context of SAP's S/4HANA or other SAP ERP systems that utilize segment reporting or segment-based MRP.
Cause:
- Segment Not MRP Relevant: The segment you are trying to enter data for is not configured to be relevant for MRP. This can happen if the segment settings do not allow for MRP processing.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the material master or MRP settings that prevent the segment from being used in MRP calculations.
- Data Entry Error: The user may be trying to enter data in the wrong field or for the wrong segment.
Solution:
Check Segment Configuration:
- Go to the configuration settings for the segments in your SAP system. Ensure that the segment you are working with is marked as relevant for MRP.
- You can check this in the material master data (transaction code MM03) under the MRP views.
Review MRP Settings:
- Ensure that the MRP settings for the material are correctly configured. This includes checking the MRP type, lot size, and other relevant parameters.
- Use transaction code OMD0 to review and adjust MRP settings if necessary.
Data Entry Verification:
- Double-check the data you are entering. Make sure you are entering it in the correct segment and that the data is valid for that segment.
- If you are using a custom transaction or report, ensure that it is correctly designed to handle segment-dependent data.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources related to segment reporting and MRP to ensure you understand the requirements and limitations.
Contact SAP Support:
- If the issue persists after checking the above points, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance. They may provide insights specific to your system configuration.
