Symptom

the material assignment screen.
Reason and Prerequisites
Materials that have different segmentation strategies can be assigned to
the same routing group only if the relevancy is set for the routing for
the segmentation structure otherwise the material should not be allowed
for the routing and an error message must be displayed.
Solution
Materials with different segmentation strategies can be assigned to the
same group and group counter only if the segmentation structures are not
relevant for routing.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
