What causes this issue?

The <ZK>Show Segment Values Only </>checkbox is used to maintain
valuation data for all variants of a generic article, having a specific
set of combination of stock segment and its corresponding valuation
type.
Example:
For stock segments Q1 and Q2, the following valuation types exist:
Stock Segment,,Valuation Type
Q1,,V1
Q2,,V2
Now, for a generic article with two variants, the valuation types would
be maintained as follows:
Variant,,Stock Segment,,Valuation Type
Article001,,Q1,,V1
Article001,,Q2,,V2
Article002,,Q1,,V1
Article002,,Q2,,V2

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

For a generic article and plant combination, if you have already
maintained the valuation types without selecting the <ZK>Show Segment
Values Only</> checkbox and the valuation type mapped to stock segment
differs for any two variants (as shown in the following example), then
this checkbox <ZK>Show Segment Values Only</> cannot be used to maintain
data consistency.

In such case, you can uncheck the <ZK>Show Segment Values Only</>
