SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: S_CUS_IMG_ACTIVITY - IMG Activity

  • Message number: 218

  • Message text: At least one table in object &1 has incorrect client-dependence

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

At least one table/view for object &V1& (view cluster or individual
transaction) has a wrong client property.
All tables of an object must be either client-independent or
    client-dependent.

    System Response

The object cannot be included completely in the concrete switch BC set.
In the switch BC set, only the tables/views that meet the specification
of the client property are transferred, that is, later there are only
client-dependent or client-independent tables/views in the switch BC
    set.

    How to fix this error?

The switch BC set only includes tables/views with the same client
dependency. If necessary, check whether you can harmonize the delivery
    class of all tables.
If a switch BC set has tables/views with different client dependencies,
then it is a switch BC set with errors, which you must correct. You
cannot activate this kind of switch BC set.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message S_CUS_IMG_ACTIVITY218 - At least one table in object &1 has incorrect client-dependence ?

The SAP error message S_CUS_IMG_ACTIVITY218 indicates that there is an issue with the client-dependence of at least one table in the specified object. This typically occurs during configuration activities in the SAP system, particularly when working with customizing settings.

    Cause:

The error arises when the system detects that a table associated with a customizing activity is not correctly set up for client-dependence. This can happen for several reasons, including:

    1. Incorrect Table Configuration: The table may not be configured to be client-dependent when it should be, or vice versa.
    2. Transport Issues: If the object was transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), there may have been issues during the transport that affected the client-dependence settings.
    3. Missing Entries: There may be missing entries in the table that are required for the client-specific configuration.
    4. Custom Development: If there are custom developments or modifications, they may not adhere to the expected client-dependence rules.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Table Configuration:

      • Use transaction SE11 to check the definition of the table mentioned in the error message. Ensure that the client-dependence settings are correct (i.e., whether it should be client-dependent or client-independent).
    2. Review Customizing Settings:

      • Go to transaction SPRO and navigate to the relevant customizing activity. Ensure that all necessary settings are correctly configured and that there are no inconsistencies.
    3. Transport Request:

      • If the issue arose after a transport, check the transport request for any errors or missing objects. You may need to re-transport the object or manually adjust the settings in the target system.
    4. Check for Missing Entries:

      • Verify that all required entries exist in the table. If any entries are missing, you may need to create them manually.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific customizing activity or table to ensure compliance with best practices.
    6. Debugging:

      • If the issue persists, consider debugging the relevant program or transaction to identify where the client-dependence check is failing.
    7. SAP Support:

      • If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. Provide them with the error message details and any relevant context.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: SE11 (Data Dictionary), SPRO (Customizing), SE80 (Object Navigator).

    • Client-Dependent vs. Client-Independent: Understand the difference between client-dependent and client-independent tables, as this is crucial for proper configuration.
