Message text: Data collection for TOTAL server set to sleeping status since &
As your system has been used just as a central system for some time,
but you want to collect the overall statistics for all servers in the
workload statistics, this option is deactivated since the overall
information only displays the same information as the individual
information for the central application server. This would impede
performance. If you include further application computers into your SAP
system, the option is activated again and the overall statistics
continue to be written.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

This typically means that the server is not currently collecting data, which can affect reporting and analytics processes.
Cause:
- Server Configuration: The server may have been intentionally configured to enter a sleeping state due to maintenance, performance tuning, or resource management.
- Resource Constraints: The server may be under heavy load or experiencing resource constraints, leading to a temporary suspension of data collection.

- Error in Data Collection Process: There could be an error or misconfiguration in the data collection process that has caused the server to stop collecting data.
Solution:
- Check Server Status: Verify the current status of the TOTAL server. You can do this through the SAP system monitoring tools or transaction codes like SM37 (for job monitoring) or SM51 (for server status).
- Restart Data Collection: If the server is in a sleeping state due to configuration, you may need to restart the data collection process. This can often be done through the relevant configuration settings in the SAP system.
- Review Logs: Check the system logs (transaction SLG1) for any errors or warnings that may provide more context on why the server is in a sleeping state.
- Resource Management: If resource constraints are the issue, consider optimizing the server's performance by reallocating resources or scheduling data collection during off-peak hours.
