SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: RU - Messages for order completion confirmation

  • Message number: 289

  • Message text: Goods movements retermined because of date change

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The detail screen "Goods movements" was called already. Due to a
subsequent change to the date "Execution Start", the material for the
goods issue and goods receipt are redetermined. Changes made for
individual materials and for unplanned goods movements are lost.
If more was confirmed than was planned, there is no requirement for the
follow-up material for a part to be discontinued, so the system
compares the "Execution Start" date with the effective-out date defined
in the material master. If the effective-out date has been reached, the
additional quantity is taken from the follow-up material, otherwise
from the part to be discontinued.

    System Response

The goods movements must be redetermined for every date change, since
at this time the system cannot determine whether there are parts to be
discontinued in the goods movement overview.

    How to fix this error?

Check the goods movements again and, if necessary, change or add to the
goods movements before saving the confirmation.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
