  • What causes this issue?

This message may be displayed for the following reasons:
The selected node is the top node in the subtree in the hierarchy, and
you tried to reassign the top node to one of its child nodes.
You tried to assign the selected hierarchy node below a hierarchy node
that is flagged as a category. In this case, the system checks whether
any other node within the tree path is also flagged as a category. If
so, you cannot reassign the selected hierarchy node.
The new parent node of the node you tried to reassign is not part of the
subtree to modify. You can only reassign nodes within the subtree you
    are currently processing.
The target node lies within the tree path of the hierarchy node you want
    to reassign.
The target hierarchy node is identical to the source hierarchy node.

    System Response

The selected hierarchy node is not reassigned.

    Cause:

This error usually arises due to one of the following reasons:

    1. Authorization Issues: The user attempting to reassign the hierarchy node does not have the necessary authorizations or permissions to perform this action. This could be due to missing roles or authorizations in the user's profile.

    2. Hierarchy Locking: The hierarchy node may be locked for editing or reassignment due to ongoing processes or transactions that are currently using it.

    3. Configuration Settings: There may be specific configuration settings in the system that restrict certain users or roles from reassigning hierarchy nodes.

    2. Unlock the Hierarchy Node:

      • If the hierarchy node is locked, identify the process or transaction that is causing the lock and resolve it. You may need to wait for the process to complete or contact the relevant team to unlock it.

      • Check the configuration settings related to hierarchy management in the relevant SAP module. Ensure that there are no restrictions placed on the user roles that would prevent reassignment.
