Message text: CCMS standard transaction: normal response time
This monitoring tree element shows the dialog response time of a
standard transaction created by the CCMS. The standard transaction
simulates a normal transactional workload by accessing database data and
running a set of ABAP function modules.
The standard transaction measures only the response time component
generated by the SAP dialog service, including access to the database.
It does not include response time component for transit to and from the
front-end SAPGUI.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Use the standard transaction to evaluate the response time across your
application servers according to a standardized transactional workload.
The standardized workload lets you compare dialog performance on a
'level playing field'. That is, it excludes effects that may distort
user dialog response time on particular servers, as for example when few
users are active and at least one user is using long-running
transactions.
If the dialog response time for the standardized transaction is green
for a particular server but the user response time is yellow or red,
then it is likely that some users on the server are using
resource-intensive transactions that distort the response time. The
server does not necessarily have a serious performance problem.

- CCMS standard transaction: normal response time ?The SAP error message RT292 relates to the CCMS (Computing Center Management System) and indicates that the normal response time for a transaction is not being met. This can be a performance issue that affects the overall efficiency of the SAP system.
Cause:
- High System Load: The system may be experiencing high load due to many users accessing it simultaneously or due to resource-intensive processes running in the background.
- Database Performance: Slow database queries or locks can lead to increased response times.
- Network Issues: Latency or bandwidth issues in the network can affect the response time.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration of the application server or database can lead to performance degradation.
- Insufficient Hardware Resources: Lack of CPU, memory, or disk I/O resources can cause slow response times.
- Inefficient Code: Custom ABAP programs or reports that are not optimized can lead to longer processing times.
Solution:
- Monitor System Performance: Use transaction codes like ST03N (Workload Analysis) and ST06 (Operating System Monitor) to analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Check Database Performance: Use transaction DB02 to monitor database performance and identify slow-running queries. Optimize these queries if necessary.
- Review System Configuration: Ensure that the SAP system and database are properly configured for optimal performance.
- Increase Hardware Resources: If the system is consistently under heavy load, consider upgrading hardware resources (CPU, memory, etc.) or scaling out by adding additional application servers.
- Optimize Custom Code: Review and optimize any custom ABAP code that may be causing delays.
- Network Optimization: Check for any network issues that may be affecting performance and work with your network team to resolve them.
- Regular Maintenance: Perform regular system maintenance tasks such as database reorganization, index rebuilding, and system updates to ensure optimal performance.
