SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: RSRV -

  • Message number: 452

  • Message text: Exposure of BW hierarchy &1 for characteristic &2 in SAP HANA

  • Show details Hide details
  • &Description&
This elementary test performs the following checks:
CHECK 1: SID values of the basic characteristic in the BW hierarchy
without the corresponding master data entries in P-table.
In this case, the BW hierarchy cannot be correctly represented via the
external SAP HANA view for characteristic with hierarchy.
This can be fixed by inserting the missing basic characteristic keys
into the P table. The action is performed in RSRV by selecting 'Correct
    Error'.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

CHECK 2: Hierarchy nodes with identical node names in H-table.
If a hierarchy contains multiple nodes with the same node name (see H
table), it cannot be consumed via the external SAP HANA view for
characteristic with hierarchy. SAP HANA Error message: 'Multiple parents
    not allowed' or 'Invalid cycles'
This cannot be repaired in RSRV. The user can decide to keep the
hierarchy as it is (without exposing it in SAP HANA) or the user can
adjust the hierarchy accordingly, in order to remove the conflicts.
CHECK 3: Intervals within the hierarchy are not supported by external
SAP HANA view for characteristic with hierarchy.
This cannot be repaired in RSRV. The user can decide to keep the
hierarchy as it is (without exposing it in SAP HANA) or the user can
adjust the hierarchy accordingly, in order to remove the conflicts.
CHECK 4: Hierarchy nodes/leaves for which the characteristic (other than
the basic characteristic) has not been defined as external
    characteristic of the basic characteristic
This can be fixed by inserting the missing hierarchy characteristics
into the external characteristics list of the basic characteristic. The
action is performed in RSRV by selecting 'Correct Error'.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSRV452 - Exposure of BW hierarchy &1 for characteristic &2 in SAP HANA ?

The SAP error message RSRV452 typically indicates an issue related to the exposure of a BW (Business Warehouse) hierarchy in SAP HANA. This error can occur when there are inconsistencies or problems with the hierarchy data for a specific characteristic in the BW system.

    Cause:

    1. Inconsistent Hierarchy Data: The hierarchy for the specified characteristic may have inconsistencies, such as missing nodes or incorrect relationships between nodes.
    2. Data Model Issues: There may be issues with the data model in BW that prevent the hierarchy from being properly exposed to HANA.
    3. Transport Issues: If the hierarchy was recently transported from one system to another, there may be issues related to the transport process.
    4. Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to view or access the hierarchy data.

    Solution:

    1. Check Hierarchy Consistency:

      • Use transaction code RSRV to run the consistency check for the hierarchy. Look for any inconsistencies and resolve them.
      • You can also use the RS_HIER_CHECK report to check the hierarchy for errors.
    2. Rebuild the Hierarchy:

      • If inconsistencies are found, you may need to rebuild the hierarchy. This can be done by deleting and recreating the hierarchy or by adjusting the nodes as necessary.
    3. Check Data Model:

      • Ensure that the data model in BW is correctly set up and that the hierarchy is properly linked to the characteristic.
      • Verify that the InfoObject associated with the characteristic is correctly defined.
    4. Transport Issues:

      • If the hierarchy was recently transported, check the transport logs for any errors or warnings that may indicate issues during the transport process.
      • Re-import the transport request if necessary.
    5. Authorization Check:

      • Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access the hierarchy data. Check the roles and authorizations assigned to the user.
    6. SAP Notes:

      • Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. SAP frequently releases notes that provide fixes or workarounds for known issues.
