Message text: SID = &2 does not exist for characteristic &1
Characteristic '&V1&' is used as a key figure in a DataStore object. The
system uses a SID to transfer a characteristic value, but SID '&V2&'
does not exist.
The changed values cannot be processed.
In manual planning, a non-existent SID indicates a progam error.
In planning functions, a non-existent SID indicates wrong configuration
of the planning function, so that the function can aggregate SID values
for example. The planning function 'Copy' can aggregate source data
records for example if the 'Copy From' selection contains more than one
value.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSPLS515
- SID = &2 does not exist for characteristic &1 ?The SAP error message RSPLS515 indicates that a specific SID (Surrogate ID) does not exist for a given characteristic in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence). This error typically arises during the execution of queries or when processing data in InfoProviders, especially when dealing with characteristics that have been defined in the data model.
Cause:
- Missing SID: The SID for the characteristic specified in the error message is not present in the SID table. This can happen if the data has not been loaded correctly or if the SID table has been corrupted or not updated.
- Data Load Issues: If the data load process was interrupted or failed, it may not have created the necessary SIDs for the characteristic.
- Incorrect Characteristic Configuration: The characteristic may not be properly configured in the InfoObject or may have been deleted or modified in a way that affects its SIDs.
- Data Source Issues: The source data may not contain the expected values for the characteristic, leading to missing SIDs.
Solution:
- Check Data Load: Verify that the data load process for the InfoProvider has completed successfully. If there were errors during the load, resolve those issues and reload the data.
- Rebuild SIDs: If the SID table is corrupted or missing entries, you may need to rebuild the SIDs. This can typically be done by executing the "Rebuild SIDs" function in the InfoObject maintenance transaction (e.g., RSD1).
- Check Characteristic Configuration: Ensure that the characteristic is correctly configured in the InfoObject. Check for any changes that may have been made recently that could affect the SID generation.
- Data Source Validation: Validate the source data to ensure that it contains the expected values for the characteristic. If the source data is missing values, you may need to address that at the source level.
- Check for Deletions: If the characteristic was recently deleted or modified, ensure that all related objects and dependencies are also updated accordingly.
