The SAP error message RSPLS086 indicates that the data of a specific InfoProvider (denoted by &1) is locked by an administrator. This typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BW/4HANA when an administrator has locked the InfoProvider to prevent data changes or to perform maintenance tasks.

    Cause:

    1. Manual Locking: An administrator may have manually locked the InfoProvider to perform maintenance, data loading, or other administrative tasks.

    Solution:

    1. Check Lock Status:

      • If you find that the lock is no longer needed, you can delete the lock entry (if you have the necessary authorizations).
    2. Contact Administrator:

      • If you are not the administrator, contact your SAP BW administrator to inquire about the lock. They can provide information on why the lock was placed and when it will be released.
    3. Wait for Completion:

      • If the lock is due to an ongoing data load or maintenance task, you may need to wait until the process is completed. You can monitor the status of the data load in transaction RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench).
    4. Review Locking Policies:

      • If this is a recurring issue, it may be worth reviewing the locking policies and procedures in your organization to minimize disruptions.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:

      • SM12: To view and manage lock entries.
      • RSA1: To monitor data loads and InfoProviders.
