  • What causes this issue?

    The settings in transaction RSPLSE (administration of the BI lock
    server) specify that you can manage server locks with the name '&V1&'.
    This server does not exist or is not active.
    This situation may arise after you make a system copy of the BW system.
    During the system copy, table RSPLS_LOCK_METHS is copied as well. This
    table contains the name of the server that is used for the lock check or
    the name of the server that contains the lock table. You cannot change
    this table during installation, upgrade, client copy, or transports
    since the table has delivery class 'L'.

    System Response

    The BW lock server cannot manage locks.

    How to fix this error?

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    Procedure for System Administrators

    If server '&V1&' is not active, activate the server.
    If the server name is no longer correct after a system copy, change the
    name of the server in transaction RSPLSE.
