Smart SAP Assistant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSM2037 - Idocs missing from BW; OLTP does not have extractor status 2.0 ?

The SAP error message RSM2037 indicates that there are IDocs missing from the BW (Business Warehouse) system, and it specifically mentions that the OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) system does not have the extractor status set to 2.0. This typically occurs in the context of data extraction processes from an SAP source system to a BW system.

    Cause:

    1. Extractor Status: The error suggests that the data extraction process is not properly configured or that the extractor has not been executed successfully. The extractor status of 2.0 indicates that the data has been successfully extracted and is ready for transfer to BW.
    2. IDoc Issues: There may be issues with the IDocs themselves, such as they not being generated, being in error status, or not being processed correctly.
    3. Connectivity Issues: There could be connectivity issues between the OLTP and BW systems, preventing the successful transfer of data.
    4. Configuration Issues: The configuration of the data source in the BW system may not be set up correctly, leading to missing IDocs.

    Solution:

    1. Check Extractor Status:

      • Go to the OLTP system and check the status of the extractor. You can do this by using transaction codes like RSA3 to test the extractor and see if it is returning data.
      • Ensure that the extractor is activated and that it has been executed successfully.
    2. Monitor IDocs:

      • Use transaction WE02 or WE05 in the OLTP system to monitor the IDocs. Check for any IDocs that are in error status and resolve any issues.
      • If IDocs are missing, ensure that the process that generates them is functioning correctly.
    3. Check for Errors:

      • Look for any error messages in the BW system that might provide more context about the missing IDocs.
      • Check the logs for the data load process in the BW system to identify any issues.
    4. Reprocess IDocs:

      • If IDocs are found in error status, you can reprocess them using transaction BD87 or correct the errors and resend them.
    5. Configuration Review:

      • Review the configuration of the data source in the BW system. Ensure that it is correctly set up to receive data from the OLTP system.
      • Check the settings in the InfoPackage and ensure that the data source is correctly linked to the appropriate InfoObject.
    6. Check Connectivity:

      • Ensure that there are no network issues between the OLTP and BW systems that could be preventing data transfer.

    Related Information:
