Message text: Init. selection overlap with request &1
You are trying to start an init. selection with selection conditions
that overlap with the selection conditions of the init. selection for
request &V1&.
This init. selection was successful in the source system.
If you want to request the transferred data again (without executing the
init. selection in the source system a second time) you have to use the
complete selections for the init. selection from request &V1&.
Transfer the selection using the menu <LS>Scheduler-></> <LS>
Initialization Selection for Source System,</> select all the entries
for which you want to reload init. data, and chose the pushbutton <LS>
Transfer Selections into the Scheduler</> (F7).
This transfers the selection conditions to your InfoPackage.
You have to use the "Full" transfer method, because you cannot carry out
any more initializations with these selection conditions.
If you want to re-initialize, you have to first delete all the old init.
selections. Use the menu option <LS>Scheduler -></> <LS>Initialization
selection for source system</> to do this. No data is deleted from the
BW system, only control entries are deleted. The delta queue is deleted
from the OLTP, and reset, to enable you to carry out your init.
selection again.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSM1065
- Init. selection overlap with request &1 ?The SAP error message RSM1065, which states "Init. selection overlap with request &1," typically occurs in the context of data extraction from SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or during the initialization of a data source. This error indicates that the initialization selection criteria you are using overlap with an existing request in the data target, which can lead to data inconsistencies or duplication.
Cause:
- Overlapping Data Ranges: The initialization selection criteria you have defined for the data extraction overlap with the data that has already been loaded into the target InfoProvider or data target.
- Request Already Exists: There is already a request in the data target that contains data for the same time period or key figures that you are trying to initialize.
- Incorrect Selection Criteria: The selection criteria defined in the initialization process may not be set correctly, leading to overlaps.
Solution:
- Check Existing Requests: Go to the data target (e.g., InfoCube, DSO) and check the existing requests. You can do this by navigating to the relevant InfoProvider and reviewing the requests that have already been loaded.
- Adjust Selection Criteria: Modify the selection criteria for the initialization to ensure that it does not overlap with existing requests. This may involve changing the date range or other key fields.
- Delete Existing Requests: If the existing requests are not needed, you can delete them to allow the new initialization to proceed without overlap. Be cautious with this approach, as it may lead to data loss if the requests contain important data.
- Use Delta Load: If applicable, consider using a delta load instead of a full initialization. Delta loads only extract the changes since the last successful load, which can help avoid overlaps.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific data source and InfoProvider you are working with for any additional guidance or best practices.
